27 April 2023, London – Howden, the international insurance broker, announces today that it has appointed Morwenna Howell as Managing Director and Global Practice Leader, Howden Multinational Client Practice. This appointment underlines Howden’s continued investment in expertise and its commitment to delivering the very best solutions for its large and multinational clients.
Howell joins from Marsh, where she has worked for the past 22 years, and currently holds the position of Managing Director and Global Service Leader in their Risk Management practice. She has been a long-standing member of the Marsh leadership team, is Head of Marsh Ireland Brokers Limited (Branch) and has previously held strategic client and team leadership roles across the UK and Ireland.
Howden’s Multinational Client Practice was created in response to a clear and growing demand from large clients, carriers and risk management associations for increased credibility and choice in the sector.
José Manuel González, CEO, Howden Broking says: “Hiring Mo Howell, with her extensive experience, expertise and unrivalled reputation in the large client space, is a hugely exciting moment for us as we continue to build our Multinational Client Practice. It is yet more clear evidence not only of our commitment to the large client sector, but also that Howden, by attracting someone of Mo’s calibre, continues to be the natural home for the very best talent in our industry.
By harnessing the power of our global network, our market-leading specialty, reinsurance and analytics capabilities, Howden is quite simply the only alternative broker that can grow and dominate in this sector of the market. Over the last year, Matteo Scagliarini and Adam Reed have built our Multinational Client Practice platform, aligning our specialty capabilities and retail client propositions across our territories; the progress they have made is already exceptional, and will be accelerated with Mo’s arrival to lead the division.”
Howell will join Howden once her contractual obligations to her current employer have been discharged.
